Maplewood’s annual MayFest celebration will return to Springfield Avenue on Sunday, May 19th with Springfield Avenue Partnership as the host and Investors Bank and Walgreens as the presenters. Daibes Enterprises, DCH Millburn Audi, Overlook Medical Center and PSEG are this year’s event sponsors. Springfield Avenue will be closed to traffic between Indiana and Rutgers Streets throughout the event, which will be held from 12 noon till 5:00 pm. The rain date is Sunday, May 26th. Highlights of MayFest will include a petting zoo and pony rides, a kiddie train and inflatable rides, a balloon sculpture artist and lots of fun activities for kids. A Classic Car Show will display custom and special interest cars. A wide array of vendors, artists, crafters and civic associations, live music provided by some of the area’s hottest bands plus great food representing the diverse community that lives, works, shops and dines along Springfield Avenue will complete the scene at one of Maplewood’s largest and most anticipated community events.
